For Employers: Connect with Texas Southern University’s Career Pathways Center

At Texas Southern University, the #1 HBCU in Houston, we offer a wide array of resources, events, and career fairs designed to help employers connect with top-tier student talent. By partnering with our Career Pathways Center, you’ll gain access to motivated and diverse candidates ready to make a meaningful impact in the workforce. Here’s how we can help you engage with the next generation of professionals:

Student Engagement Opportunities

Career Fairs
Our career fairs, held each semester, provide an excellent opportunity to meet a broad spectrum of applicants from various disciplines. These fairs are in collaboration with other career centers and offer a one-stop venue for employers to connect with Texas Southern University's diverse student body.

Virtual Interviews
When you're ready to narrow down your candidate pool, virtual interviews are an ideal way to screen and select students who meet your qualifications. Using Handshake, you can post job descriptions, receive resumes, and notify our Career Pathways Center of selected candidates for on-campus or virtual interviews.

Job, Internship, and Graduate School Postings
With our central job posting system, you can share your career opportunities with over 9,000 students from all departments and majors at Texas Southern University. Our career services team works across departments to ensure your openings reach the right students, whether for full-time jobs, internships, or graduate school opportunities.

Formal Information Sessions
Host a formal information session to introduce your company to students and educate them about your recruitment process, corporate culture, and available positions. This is a great way to establish a strong brand presence on campus and connect directly with potential candidates.

Employer Office Hours
Employer office hours provide students with an opportunity to meet one-on-one with corporate representatives, ask questions about your industry, and gain valuable career insights. Our team promotes these opportunities to students and monitors registration through Handshake, ensuring an efficient and streamlined process.

Student Organizations
Texas Southern University students actively engage in over 100 clubs and organizations. We encourage companies to work directly with student organization leaders to host speaking engagements, panel discussions, and other career-focused activities, providing a platform for you to interact with students in a more intimate setting.

Speaking in Classrooms
A select number of faculty members are open to hosting industry experts who can add value to students' educational experiences. This is an opportunity to contribute to the intellectual growth of our students by presenting real-world business case studies and engaging in discussions. Our Career Pathways Center team will help you connect with faculty members and align content for classroom visits.

Customized Student Engagement Opportunities
We offer creative, customizable programs to showcase your company and interact with our students. Past events have included information tables, executive chats, leadership development workshops, and case competitions. Our team works with employers to design unique events that meet their recruiting needs and help them stand out on campus.
